This bold and vibrant color represents the perfect balance of warm and cool tones, and it’s the perfect choice for anyone looking to make a statement with their branding or marketing efforts. According to Pantone, Viva Magenta “emanates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.”

Whether you’re in the digital media, interior design, or fashion industry, incorporating Viva Magenta into your work can help you stand out and make a lasting impression on your audience. So why not join the color trend of 2023 and choose Viva Magenta as your go-to color? Let your creativity shine with this exciting and inspiring color!

The worldwide authority on Color makes its Color of the Year announcement every December, and this year’s Color, revealed on Thursday, is a lively reddish orange.

“A nuanced crimson tone” that strikes a balance between warm and cool, Viva Magenta is “an unexpected shade for an unorthodox period,” Pantone said in a statement announcing its choice.

The statement said, “Viva Magenta is a vibrant color whose exuberance fosters hope and delight. An “electrifying, boundaryless shade,” it is a “powerful and empowering” red that “encourages experimentation and self-expression without constraint.”

Further, the business characterized the shade as “audacious, funny, and inclusive of all.”

The Pantone Color Institute chose these hues to reflect current styles in various industries, such as fashion, beauty, technology, design, and interior decoration. Colors were selected to reflect the current cultural climate, thus it can also double as a mood ring.

Colors that are calming, soothing, or uplifting are commonly chosen during years of uncertainty. Amid the ongoing pandemic, Viva Magenta symbolizes reassurance, confidence, and connection, as stated by Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute.

“Present day society is really unorthodox. The unconventionality itself has become the norm, “she revealed in a CNN video chat. There’s no question that COVID has been the primary factor in shaping our thinking, events, and the adjustments we’ve had to make.

The beauty of nature serves as inspiration.

Pantone Color Institute director Leatrice Eiseman explained that the Color was influenced by cochineal, a natural red dye made from the ashes of crushed insects.

Eiseman remarked in a news release, “As virtual worlds become more prevalent in our daily lives, we strive to draw inspiration from nature and what is genuine. By calling upon the energies of the natural world, it inspires us to take charge of our own well-being and develop resilience.”

The public can see the results of this year’s announcement at a brand-new Miami show that opens this coming Saturday. The Magentaverse is an interactive museum that delves into the “dynamic between Artificial Intelligence and human creativity” through various Viva Magenta-themed visual, aural, and tactile experiences.

The Pantone Matching System was developed by Pantone and is widely used in the printing, graphic design, and fashion industries for color identification and matching. For almost twenty years, it has chosen a “color of the year.”

Not afraid to branch out of the norm, the business went with a Rose Quartz and Serenity gradient in 2016 to reflect the year’s shifting conversations on gender. In 2020, it chose not one but two colors to represent the fortitude and hope displayed throughout the first year of the pandemic: Ultimate Gray and Illuminating (a vivid yellow).

Very Peri, a periwinkle, was chosen as Pantone’s Color of the Year last year, marking the first time the organization created a new shade for the title rather than relying on its back catalog.
